My New Beginning

In the name of the best within you, do not sacrifice this world to those who are its worst. In the name of the values that keep you alive, do not let your vision of man be distorted by the ugly, the cowardly, the mindless in those who have never achieved his title. Do not lose your knowledge that man's proper estate is an upright posture, an intransigent mind and a step that travels unlimited roads. Do not let your fire go out, spark by irreplaceable spark, in the hopeless swamps of the approximate, the not-quite, the not-yet, the not-at-all. Do not let the hero in your soul perish, in lonely frustration for the life you deserved, but have never been able to reach. Check your road and the nature of your battle. The world you desired can be won, it exists, it is real, it is possible, it's yours.
Ayn Rand

Yes, the day is finally here. The journey begins. Seeking that which I have been attempting to achieve my whole life and now I have a place to realize my dreams. My studio. A place to create and feel the freedom to make art without interruptions of everyday homelife. Here are some pics of me moving in with my best buddy and supporter, Joe. Thanks for believing in me and helping me whenever I ask you. You are truly a person who is good.

Pin Hole Photography with Kids

Here are a few of the pics from the project I spearheaded in June 2007-May 2008. A great charity combined with an enriching art experience for my students. Yes, that's right folks, 10 year olds took these pics with a specially designed pin hole camera that advances film. Cool, eh? Check out this website to read a proposal I made to the New Westminster City Council. http://www.newwestcity.ca/council_minutes/0526_08/Regular/Reports/RG2.pdf

Salvation in a Cup of Joe

This painting is from my "cartoon" series of which there are many. A satirical look at the world through my laughing eyes. We are a coffee drinking-make that organic, free trade, green, world market friendly. God's will is how I've come to live my life and when things are meant to be, they will happen as God intended. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a Jesus, born again freak but I do believe in a higher power out there. I know God gave me this talent and is allowing me to explore it at this point of my life. I've been made to wait until this time for a reason...just not sure what it is yet.   Take your chances in life. It's never to late to pursue your dreams. Dreams can't come true if you don't try. You're one step closer to achieving when you take that step.

Ocean Views

My life has been about the ocean and the Canadian Pacific NorthWestcoast. Everything that has meant anything always comes back to the sea. I grew up on the Pacific Ocean because my dad had a boat that we took many adventures on throughtout the San Juan and Gulf Islands. We explored many sheltered coves and isolated inlets. Poured over the terrain of discreet islands and had many tales to tell of the sea. I loved the ever changing landscape that is the sea. The weather changing the landscape and perspective. Storms were times that will forever impress images on my mind. the turbulant ocean patterns and changing skies above made life truly interesting. These are my "bread and butter pics," the images that are effortless for me and come to me easily. I produce them with impulsivity. They just come to me. The most successful ones are the pieces that seem to paint themselves. That's when the magic happens

Grafitti from the Drive then Mine

Exciting Day

I had a great time today at the East Vancouver Cultural Crawl! Crossing my fingers. Also saw some great grafitti on outside walls and talked to someone who said that this form of art is HUGE in Europe. Do I have a finger on the pulse on something here?? I know, I know... grafitti is nothing really new but being accepted as a form of art and to be expressing myself this way I find extremely exciting. Check out the pics then another one from my series. Bon appetit.
